Golfclub Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf is one of the most enjoyable golf courses in Tyrol. The combination of stunning mountain scenery, excellent conditioning and a relaxed playing experience makes every round memorable.

Location & Character

Nestled within the impressive Tyrolean Alps, Westendorf offers a modern golf experience with a high level of comfort and accessibility.

Unlike many Alpine golf courses, Westendorf avoids extreme elevation changes and remains comfortably walkable throughout the round. This unique combination of mountain scenery and relatively flat terrain gives the course its own distinct identity.

Course Overview

Westendorf is not a course that relies on extreme length or overwhelming difficulty. Instead, it impresses through intelligent architecture and strategic design.

Many holes feature subtle doglegs and reward precise positioning from the tee. Players who simply hit driver everywhere often lose advantages, while those who think strategically are consistently rewarded.

The course flows naturally through the landscape and offers an enjoyable balance between challenge and playability.

Playing Experience & Difficulty

From a playing perspective, Westendorf falls into the moderate difficulty category.

The course remains fair and enjoyable for all handicap levels. Beginners have enough room to play comfortably, while more experienced golfers are challenged by the strategic layout and shot values.

The fairways are generally medium in width, the rough is fair, and players who miss significantly are more likely to find trees or out-of-bounds areas than deep rough.

The greens are fast, true and gently undulating, rewarding precise approach play and confident putting.

Signature Hole

My personal signature hole is the 9th.

This attractive finishing hole plays directly towards the clubhouse and shares a large double green with the 18th hole. The water hazard in front of the green, combined with the terrace and mountain backdrop, creates one of the most memorable scenes on the course.

Golfclub Westendorf is a golf course where you immediately feel comfortable.

The combination of excellent conditioning, thoughtful design and stunning Alpine scenery creates a complete golfing experience. While the course gains much of its appeal from its atmosphere and location, it still offers enough strategic challenge to keep experienced golfers engaged.

A golf course I would happily play again at any time.
