  • Tactically very demanding
  • Fast, undulating greens with very good maintenance
  • Cart use throughout → high comfort
  • Buggy service on the course

The Asia Course at La Cala Resort is a demanding, tactically driven golf course with strong topography — perfect for golfers who truly want to test their game.

Location & Character

Located right at the La Cala Resort clubhouse, the course leads through a hilly landscape with repeatedly impressive views towards the sea. The surroundings are quiet, expansive and shaped by nature and elevation changes.

Course Overview

The Asia Course is one of three courses at La Cala Resort and is known as tactically demanding with plenty of movement in the terrain.

Hardly any hole runs straight — uphill, downhill and lateral lies define the play.

Multiple tee options cater to different playing levels.

Playing Experience

The course demands precise and forward-thinking golf.

Blind shots, undulating fairways and constantly changing ball lies make every hole a new challenge.

The greens are fast and heavily undulating — anyone who doesn't play cleanly here quickly loses strokes.

A highlight is hole 10 — a par 5 right at the clubhouse with views across the entire course.

Course Maintenance & Condition

The maintenance standard is very good.

Fairways are consistently green and well-maintained, greens are fast and reliable.

Typical for the region, peripheral areas can dry out during drought, though this doesn't affect play.

Practice Facilities & Infrastructure

The organisation at the resort is at a very high level:

Every player receives a cart (standard)

Very good pace of play through marshals

Buggy service on the course

The only downside:

The driving range is only accessible by shuttle or car.

However, good short game and putting areas are available at the clubhouse.

Club Life & Atmosphere

The clubhouse offers a relaxed, high-quality atmosphere with views over the course.

The entire resort is professionally run, with friendly service and high quality in hotel, dining and operations.

Who Is It For

Perfect for:

Mid to low handicappers

Golf trips with a sporting edge

Players who love tactical golf

Less suitable for:

Beginners

Players who prefer flat, easy courses

Felix Proske's Verdict

The Asia Course is a challenging, tactical golf course with plenty of character.

Anyone who wants to test their game is in the right place here.

Demanding for beginners — for good players, one of the highlights at La Cala Resort.

Conclusion

The Asia Course is a tactically demanding course with plenty of topography and strong greens. Perfect for good players — challenging for beginners, but educational.
